I am a great believer in keeping not only my network machines patched but also my home laptop having been caught out once many years ago I check my home laptop for updates very regularly, so this morning I checked and was surprised to see “Microsoft Browser Choice Screen Update for EEA Users of Windows 7 (KB976002)” as an important update.
After checking the Microsoft site here I discovered that this is the windows update that gives you a choice of browser for us Europeans. Are we not grown up enough to be able to decide which browser we want to use be it internet explorer, Firefox, opera or even Google chrome among just a few to choose from, I know that Chris is a big fan of Firefox and the features that it offers so always installed it alongside Internet Explorer. So Mr EU could you please start treating us as grownups and let us choose ourselves not have that choice forced upon us. This update also applies to:-

- Windows 7 Enterprise N
- Windows 7 Home Premium
- Windows 7 Home Premium N
