PowerPoint 2010 Save as video
Dave Coleman | February 15, 2010We at Twynham School have started to evaluate the new version of office so one of the new features that i was very pleased to see was the ability to save your PowerPoint to a video file. I think in this age of you tube and Google videos this is a perfect way to share your presentations with the world and give PowerPoint more longevity as an application.
This feature i can see will be widely used in the education world giving the teacher the ability to show there PowerPoint in a class and then upload a video of the same presentation to the schools learning platform in our case streamed through SharePoint or an external video site. It is also very simple to achieve just go to the office button and click share as the picture below shows
On our trip to Microsoft US last June we were also shown more feature that have a tie in to the educational world but sadly these are still non-disclosure but as soon as i can i will share these features as and when i can. I have converted one of my presentations that i recently gave at the learning gateway conference at the Belfry and made it available on you tube not a fantastic slide deck but gives an example of what you can achieve very easily to share your presentations with the world. As i explore more of the office applications and find the cool new features that will hopefully help in your day to day work i will let you know.
